Duodecim

In 2024, Texas A&M returned to the solar car racing scene. After a 15 year hiatus, Texas A&M Solar Car Racing made its return to the Formula Sun Grand Prix at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Formerly Texas A&M Solar Motorsports, the Texas A&M Solar Car Racing Team was founded in 2022 by Ian Burress and competed for the first time with Duodecim, which directly translates to “twelve” in Latin, to represent the 12th Man. The team was 50+ members strong, boasting over 17 majors from many different disciplines within Texas A&M University, including disciplines outside of engineering such as visualization, mathematics, physics, and marketing. As Aggies, they strived to uphold our core values of excellence and selfless service through implementing initiatives in sustainability, renewable energy, and STEM education in our local community. As a close-knit team, they represented Texas A&M University as one of the newest and brightest student organizations in The College of Engineering and one of the top sustainability clubs on campus.
